who came out and supported Liz and the movie, participated
in a Q & A, bought a t-shirt or just plain schmoozed during
the three-week tour that wrapped up last week. Read the tour
diary at our Jericho's
Echo Blog. |

As many of you know, the focus of this documentary
has gone beyond just covering the band Useless I.D., and grown to include
a much larger spectrum of the punk rock scene and youth countercultural
movement in Israel. Therefore, we are looking to come up with a new
title that reflects this change...and we need to do it fast! Email liz@liznord.com
with your ideas before 2/10/04 and you could win full credit for the
title plus a DVD pack once the movie is complete. Think punk...think
youth...think Israel...and think fast!

More Footage to be shot in Israel
We
are thrilled to announce that San Francisco's Steve Lerner will
be shooting additional footage for the documentary in Israel in January.
Steve has been involved with music and photography since the early 1980s
in Long Beach, when he was a photographer and roadie for hardcore bands
in the legendary Los Angeles and Orange County hardcore punk scenes.
Steve's
San Francisco Bay Area sound work includes sound systems engineering
on the English Patient, which won the Oscar for Best Sound in 1996,
production of Klezmer music in San Francisco, as well as his own rock
and electronic music bands.Steve comes from three generations of photography
and photofinishing, beginning with his grandfather who helped found
one of the first companies to compete against Kodak. Stevešs photography
has been featured in the Guggenheim Museum in New York City.

Post-Production Begins. Maximum Rock and Roll.
Project
Director Liz Nord has returned to the States from a month of shooting
in Israel, with 25 hours of footage and a whole new direction for the
movie! Rather than focusing strictly on the band Useless I.D., Liz met
and interviewed many of the young bands in the punk scene, and got a
variety of fascinating and insightful perspectives on what life is like
for these young outsiders who are unwittingly wrapped up in a tumultuous
political situation.
Look out
for Issue #246 of the internationally distributed music magazine, Maximum
Rock and Roll. An article written by Liz Nord about her findings
in Israel will appear in this issue.
We need
your help more than ever to get through post-production in a timely
manner. Donate safely and securely online here.
ANY amount helps!
